The Adoption Process
We believe every adoption is a special story of two hearts meeting. To make the journey to your new family member safe and joyful for both you and your cat, we have created a few simple steps:

First introduction and visit. Everything begins with a warm phone call (+371 23077444) about the cat who caught your eye on our social media or website. After that, we will be happy to invite you to visit our unique cage-free shelter, where you can get to know the cat - and the cat can get to know you. That special connection matters!

Choosing with your heart. Once your heart has made its choice - whether it is the cat you originally came to meet or another furry friend who unexpectedly steals your heart during your visit - our team will guide you through the adoption conversation. If we share the same understanding of the cat’s value and place in your new family, we will agree on an adoption day. In most cases, all formalities can be completed within just 1-2 days.

A promise of care. At the time of adoption, we sign an agreement. It is not just paperwork - it is a promise of lifelong care and well-being, including a safe environment, secured windows, quality food, and, most importantly, endless love and warmth.

An adoption donation. We ask for an adoption donation of €50. This helps cover the cost of vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, and registration, so we can continue helping the next cats in need.

Getting ready for your cat’s arrival. Before your cat steps into your home, you will need to prepare suitable food according to our recommendations, or a special diet if needed, as well as a cozy space with a litter box.

Safety comes first. We want your life together to be long and happy. That is why, before your cat comes home, it is important to make sure your windows and balcony are secure. To prevent tragic accidents, injuries, or escapes, we strongly recommend installing screens on windows and protective guards for ventilation openings.

The big trip home. On adoption day, please remember to bring a safe and comfortable carrier. This will help your cat feel protected and make the first trip to their new home calm and comfortable for both of you.

A friendship that continues. We are always truly happy to receive updates and photos of our former residents in their new lives. And remember - we remain your family’s friends, both in joyful moments and whenever you need advice, support, or a helping hand with your cat’s health and well-being.
