Welcome to REMI - a special place where every cat is an individual and every day is filled with hope. We are not just a shelter; we are a temporary home where love and care know no limits.

Our Story and Big Goals
The REMI Cat Rescue Center began its work in the fall of 2022. Since then, we have worked tirelessly to give every cat in need another chance. In less than four years, we have helped more than 600 cats find homes. One especially emotional milestone came in November 2025, when our 500th resident met their forever person and left for a new home. These numbers prove that together, we can make miracles happen.

Our Philosophy: Freedom and Life
REMI is a cage-free shelter because we believe the feeling of home cannot be created behind bars. Our residents live in cozy, home-like surroundings, free from cages. We are also a no-kill shelter, and we fight for every life, no matter how difficult the journey may be.

Health and Peace of Mind
Thanks to the LNK Charity Foundation, REMI is home not only to a shelter but also to the veterinary clinic Cat’s Heart. Here, every cat receives a thorough examination and any necessary medical care or treatment. All of our cats are spayed or neutered [when age-appropriate], vaccinated, and fully ready to go home.

Our Cats: Social Media Stars
We take a creative approach to finding homes. Our furry friends become true video and photo stars. The stories we create on social media reach tens and even hundreds of thousands of views. Join us at @remicentrs. Follow our journey, watch adorable videos, and share them - by doing so, you help our cats and their people find each other much faster, while also helping us heal, rescue, and save even more cats in need.

LNK Charity Foundation - our deepest thanks and gratitude for standing with us. Without the foundation’s selfless support and care, REMI would not be possible. The foundation is our main source of support, making it possible for both our clinic and our shelter to exist and save hundreds of lives.
RFS Football Club - together with Latvia’s champions, we have created special charity calendars for several years. The 2026 calendar is already available for purchase. 100% of the proceeds go directly to helping cats.
Ziedot.lv and the Latvian Deposit Point network - by helping keep Latvia cleaner, people also support cats through donations made via bottle return machines.
Kārums and the animated film Flow - together, we launched a special watermelon-flavored sweet curd snack, helping tell the story of cat rescue to a wider audience.

Bolt - their exclusive scooter-shaped scratching post has become one of our cats’ favorite places to play.
