A cage-free, no-kill cat shelter in Riga
Welcome to REMI. We care for cats until they find homes, and we take the time to get to know each one.
REMI opened in the fall of 2022. Since then, we’ve helped cats get the care they need and find homes.
Since opening in 2022, we’ve helped more than 700 cats find homes. In November 2025, our 500th cat was adopted. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible.
Our approach is simple: give cats a safe place to live and the care they need.
Cage-free. Our cats live in comfortable, home-like rooms where they can move around freely.
No-kill. We’re a no-kill shelter, committed to caring for every cat we take in.
Our own vet clinic. With support from the LNK Charity Foundation, we also run an on-site veterinary clinic, Kaķa sirds (“Cat’s Heart”). Every cat gets an examination and any treatment they need.
Ready to go home. Before adoption, our cats are vaccinated and, when old enough, spayed or neutered.
Our work would not be possible without the support of caring people and businesses. We are proud of our friends and partners:
The LNK Charity Foundation is our main supporter. With its help, we can keep our shelter and clinic running and care for hundreds of cats. Thank you for making this work possible.
